YOUR COMPASSIONATE BADASSERY SUPERPOWER IS: FIERCENESS

Your super strength is all about facing the hard stuff head on.

Fierceness is a form of bravery. You’re willing to take action, maybe even take risks, to get important things done. You might use your strength to speak up for what’s right, to stand up to bullies, or to go towards danger when others are in need.

Want to practice compassionate badassery? Lean into your fierceness and tackle an area of your life that you’ve been avoiding.

HIYA! I'M JESSICA

Before we go any further, let me introduce myself…I’m a compassion fatigue educator and coach. I also really like bagels, libraries, and play bowing at dogs.

You’re helping animals. I’m here to help you.

Over the past 10 years I’ve helped thousands of dog trainers, shelter workers, veterinarians, and other animal care folks like you to make an impact, while also having the time and energy to enjoy your life!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck when it comes to compassion fatigue or that whole “work/life balance” thing, I’ve got your back.  Check out a few of my resources for fierceness below!

YOUR NEXT STEPS

People who have the strength of fierceness can become so focused on making an impact that they exhaust themselves. That’s when burnout and compassion fatigue might kick in.

Even though you want to make things better, if you’re burned out from always stepping up, it’s easy to become angry, cynical, and desensitized. You might wind up causing harm to others (and yourself) when you’re in this depleted state.

No matter how tough you are, you have limits. Take care of yourself so you can keep doing ethical, effective, sustainable work.

Plus, if you take care of yourself, you’ll be able to access the good stuff, like connection with others and satisfaction on the job. This will sustain you, as you keep fighting for a better world.
